Planned Gifts & Bequests
The Jeanne B. McCoy Center for the Arts was named to honor and celebrate the life of a community arts patron. In the footsteps of the McCoy family, please consider a legacy gift to the McCoy Center. Bequests, gifts of insurance and retirement funds, and gifts that provide lifetime income can provide significant future resources to the McCoy Center while providing you with income, tax, and personal benefits.
Please contact us at 614-719-6614, or jmorris@capa.com for additional information.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities
The McCoy welcomes gifts of stocks, bonds, and shares of mutual funds. By donating appreciated stocks directly to the McCoy Center, you can likely avoid capital gains taxes and help support the local arts. Your donation value will be reflected as the full air-market on the date the stock is liquidated by the McCoy Center, which is typically within 3 business days.
Please contact us at 614-719-6614 for additional information.
Endowment & Capital Gifts
We have several designated funds that are managed by the New Albany Community Foundation and the Columbus Foundation. The corpus of the funds are invested to ensure the long term financial stability of the McCoy Center. A portion of the annual dividends from the funds is used to help support programming activities at the McCoy Center. Many donors have contributed to the Arts and Sciences Endowment to help build this fund and make a difference in the community. Additionally, several additional donors have established individual funds to provide on-going support for specific programs within the arts and presented at the McCoy Center.
If you would like to learn more about the endowment and explore opportunities to support the McCoy Center, please contact us at 614-719-6614.
Named Theatre Seats
Since the grand opening in 2008, many families and companies have chosen to name seats in the McCoy Center’s Schottenstein Theatre. This is a great way to show your support of the arts, recognize a special occasion or accomplishment, or remember a loved one.
Donations are permanently recognized on an engraved plaque on each designated seat. The cost for a named theatre seat is:
- $1000 Orchestra Level
- $500 Balcony Level
Limited availability. This program will only remain available until all seats within the Theatre are named. Please contact Jessica Morris, Director of Development at jmorris@capa.com with questions.
Matching Gifts
Many corporations have giving programs to match your donations to qualified nonprofits. This is a wonderful way to double the impact of your gift! Please check with your Human Resources office to see if your company offers a matching gift program.
